Crystal oscillator circuit design is an electronic oscillation circuit that uses piezoelectric crystals as frequency-selective elements.

Crystal oscillators have the physical properties of positive and negative piezoelectric effects, and can generate very weak periodic oscillation signals. After amplification and filtering, the signal can be used as a signal source.

Crystal oscillators have a piezoelectric effect, that is, when a voltage is applied to the two poles of the crystal, the crystal will deform. Conversely, if an external force deforms the crystal, the metal sheets on the two poles will generate voltage. If an appropriate AC voltage is applied to the crystal, the crystal will resonate.

Crystal oscillators use crystals that can convert electrical energy and mechanical energy into each other, and work in a resonant state to provide stable and accurate single-frequency oscillation.

Crystal oscillators are based on the piezoelectric effect of quartz crystals:

When an alternating voltage is applied, the crystal will vibrate mechanically at its natural frequency.

The vibration frequency is determined by the direction and size of the crystal cut (such as the common AT cut).

The circuit maintains oscillation through amplification and feedback, and outputs a stable frequency signal.
