SKYSIL SL-712 SILICA POWDER FOR INDUSTRIAL COATING

SL-712 is a high effieciency silica matting agent that is equal to Grace ED5, no matter is chemical parameters or usage industries. With special

wax treatment on surface, it can provide double functions including precise matte effect and long-lasting protection.

1. Chemical properties are equal to Grace ED5

- High purity amorphous structure: content of SiO2 is more than 99.3%. The content of impurity ions (Na⁺, Cl⁻) is less than 100ppm, ensuring the

yellowing resistance and chemical stability of the coating.

- Controllable porosity design: Through the precipitation silicate polycondensation process, a through-hole structure with a pore size of 5-20nm is

formed (specific surface area 220-260㎡/g), giving the coating efficient light scattering ability, and the glossiness at 60° angle can be adjusted from

2-90GU.

2. Matting performance and protection mechanism

- Dynamic matting enhancement

The wax treatment layer produces microphase separation during the film-forming stage of the coating, and cooperates with the porous structure of

silica to form a composite rough surface of "micron-level depressions + nano-level protrusions", which causes diffuse reflection of incident light. The

matting efficiency is increased by 25% compared with the untreated product, and a uniform matte effect can still be maintained in a high film thickness

(>100μm) system.

3. Industrial application value

In the field of engineering machinery and ship coatings, SL-712 can achieve single-coat matte protection, replacing the traditional "primer + matte

topcoat" system, simplifying the process and reducing costs by 18-22%. Its wax protective layer characteristics are particularly suitable for cold chain

equipment, chemical storage tanks and other scenes that require anti-condensation and anti-corrosion, and its performance is stable in the temperature

range of -40℃~150℃.
