Regeneration process

   The steps of down-flow regeneration process are: Backwash→ Brine draw & slow rinse→ Brine refill → Fast rinse, after water qualified goes to service.
(1) Backwash position
   After stopping service, turn the handle or program controls motor to drive the moving disk to rotate, and stop when it forms a state with the fixed disk. Raw water goes through the through hole of the moving disk, enters the fixed disk, valve body and riser pipe, flows out from the bottom strainer, and cleans up the resin layer upwards. The waste water passes through the top strainer and valve body, and through the blind hole's diversion of moving disk to the drain.

(2) Brine draw & slow rinse position

   Brine draw: after the backwash is completed, turn the handle or the program to control the motor to rotate, and driving the moving disk to rotate, and forms a state with the fixed disk. Raw water goes through the through hole of the moving disk, enters the fixed disk, and flows through the injector. When negative pressure is generated at the nozzle outlet, the saturated brine in brine tank is sucked and mixed with the inlet water (part of products use the soft water which is from the soft water tank or produced by another tank as the inlet water for regeneration, and mixed with the softened water) to be diluted to a certain concentration of salt solution, from top strainer, and flows into the resin layer downwards, to restore the exchange capacity of resin. The waste water returns from bottom strainer and riser pipe to the fixed disk, through the blind hole's diversion of the moving disk and is discharged from the drain. 

Slow rinse: after the brine is sucked from brine tank, the inlet water continues to clean the resin in same station, liquid flow direction and flow rate as brine draw. Meanwhile, the brine remaining in the resin tank will be used to continue to ion exchange with resin. Since the slow rinse state and the brine draw state is basically the same, the two are usually set to the same step, but after brine in the brine tank is sucked up, the air check valve installed in the brine tank isshut down to block the brine line connector to prevent air sucked to resin tank.

(3) Brine refill position
   After brine draw & slow rinse is completed, turn the handle or the program controls motor to rotate the moving disk, and forms a state with the fixed disk as shown in Figure 2-7, raw water goes through the through hole of the moving disk, enters the fixed disk, and after passing through the injector, it will fill brine to brine tank through the brine line connector, to make the liquid level in the brine tank reach the set height for brine draw in next regeneration.
(4) Fast rinse position
   After the brine refill is completed, turn the handle or program controls motor to rotate the moving disk, and forms a state with the fixed disk as shown in Figure 2-8, raw water goes through the through hole of the moving disk, enters the fixed disk, valve body and top strainer. After cleaning the resin layer downwards, returns to the fixed disk from the bottom strainer and riser pipe, and flows from the blind hole's diversion of the moving disk to the drain.
   The regeneration process of up-flow regeneration is basically the same as down-flow regeneration, only up-flow regeneration does not need backwash in each regeneration. Its flow direction of brine draw is opposite to the down-flow. The sucked brine firstly enters to riser pipe, and then through bottom strainer to resin layer upwards. After the resin is regenerated, enters the valve body and fixed disk through the top strainer, and flows through the moving disk's diversion to the drain, as shown in Figure 2-6 Figure C.
