Steps to replace the thermostat:

Preparation:

1. Safety first: Make sure the engine is cool before starting.

Gather tools: Gather all necessary tools and materials.

Locate the thermostat: Refer to the engine's service manual for the exact location of the thermostat housing.

2. Drain the coolant:

Place a drain pan under the radiator or cooling system drain plug.

Open the drain plug and allow the coolant to drain completely.

Close the drain plug after the coolant has drained.

3. Remove the old thermostat:

Locate the thermostat housing and remove the bolts using a socket wrench or spanner.

Carefully lift the housing and remove the old thermostat.

Inspect the housing and thermostat seat for any damage or wear.

4. Prepare the housing:

Clean the thermostat housing thoroughly with solvent to remove any debris or old gasket material.

Apply a thin layer of gasket sealant to the surface of the housing where the new thermostat gasket will sit.

5. Install New Thermostat:

Install the new thermostat (D4936026) into the housing.

Make sure the thermostat is properly seated and aligned.

6. Reassemble the Housing:

Reattach the thermostat housing to the engine using the bolts.

Tighten the bolts to the manufacturer's torque specifications.

7. Refill Cooling System:

Refill the cooling system with the appropriate coolant.

Run the engine and check for proper operation, bleed the air out of the cooling system.
