What are the differences between 1D brand 08886-02505 4L CVT FE transmission fluid and other types of transmission fluid?
Our transmission fluid is a special oil for CVT transmissions in Japanese cars and has many differences from other types of transmission fluids, as follows:
1. The difference between AT and transmission oil
● Applicable transmission structure and working principle: The AT transmission transmits power through a hydraulic torque converter and has a complex planetary gear mechanism, wet clutch, etc. inside. The CVT transmission uses steel belt and conical pulley drive, achieving stepless speed change by changing the diameter of the conical pulley.
● Oil characteristics: CVT FE transmission fluid has a lower viscosity and is thinner than AT transmission fluid, and it needs to have specific damping friction to prevent the steel belt from slipping. AT transmission fluid is mainly used in hydraulic transmission and lubricating planetary gear sets, etc. It has high requirements for fluidity and anti-bubble ability.
2. The difference from MT transmission fluid
● Applicable transmission structure and working principle: MT transmission, also known as manual transmission, mainly changes the gear ratio through manual gear shifting. Its structure is relatively simple, and gear shifting is achieved by the driver operating the clutch and gearshift lever.
● Oil characteristics: MT transmission oil is usually a gear oil with a relatively high viscosity. Its main functions are lubrication and heat dissipation to withstand the high load and friction between gears. However, the viscosity of the CVT FE transmission fluid is low and it also needs to meet the special friction performance requirements of the steel belt drive.
3. The difference from AMT transmission fluid
● Applicable transmission structure and working principle: The AMT transmission is based on the MT transmission and is equipped with a microcomputer-controlled automatic operation system to achieve gear shifting. Some AMT transmissions use the same transmission fluid as MT transmissions, while others employ dedicated AMT transmission fluid.
● Oil characteristics: If AMT uses MT transmission fluid, its viscosity is relatively high. CVT FE transmission fluid is different from it. It has special formulas and characteristics suitable for CVT steel belt transmission, such as low viscosity and specific friction performance, etc.
4. The difference from DCT transmission fluid
● Applicable transmission structure and working principle: The DCT dual-clutch transmission can be regarded as a combination of two MT transmissions, with two sets of clutches respectively controlling gears at different gears. The oils it uses include gear oil for lubricating gears and oil for the control system.
● Oil characteristics: The gear oil part of the DCT transmission has a relatively high viscosity, and the oil used for the control system is similar to that of ATF. CVT FE transmission fluid differs from DCT transmission fluid in terms of viscosity, friction performance, etc., and is specially developed for the characteristics of CVT transmission.
Furthermore, even if they are all CVT transmission fluids, our 1D brand CVT FE transmission fluid is different from the CVT transmission fluids of other brands or those of other models of Toyota (such as TC).
For example, compared with Toyota CVT TC transmission fluid, FE has a lower viscosity, thinner oil quality, and better cold start performance. However, when operating at high speed, the oil film may be thinner and the lubrication effect is relatively weak. However, TC has a high viscosity and thick oil quality, making cold start difficult. But at high speeds, the oil film protection effect is good.
