Proper maintenance can increase cylinder liner life by more than 50%. The following are proven and practical strategies.

1. Oil management: Lubrication is the first line of defense

Viscosity selection: According to engine type and ambient temperature, SAE 5W-30 is recommended for passenger cars (both low starting and high temperature protection). A taxi fleet misused low-viscosity oil (5W-20), resulting in a three-fold increase in cylinder liner wear.

Replacement cycle: Ordinary mineral oil is recommended to be replaced by 5000 km, and fully synthetic oil can be extended to 10,000 km, but it needs to be combined with oil test paper detection (obvious stratification needs to be replaced).

Oil level control: insufficient oil (less than 1/3 of the lower limit) will lead to lubrication failure, excessive oil (higher than 1/3 of the upper limit) may cause "burning oil", the inner wall of the cylinder liner to form a carbon shell.

2. Temperature control: Avoid "cold and fire"

Coolant temperature: The best working temperature 78-85℃ (passenger car) /85-95℃ (diesel engine), below 70℃ will lead to condensation of water vapor in the coolant, aggravate acid corrosion. It is recommended to install a thermostat opening detector and replace it in time when the opening is less than 80%.

Cooling system maintenance: Clean the water tank regularly (once every 2 years), use glycol antifreeze (freezing point -35 ° C, boiling point 108 ° C), avoid using tap water (mineral content is easy to scale, resulting in 20% reduction in heat dissipation efficiency).
