When choosing a filter plate, one should also observe its color, pat its body, and burn its material.
Pure color and no impurities indicate uniform material; If the hands are not sticky, it means that there is no adhesive sprayed on the surface, which will not cause secondary pollution. Holding the filter plate with one hand and clapping it with the other hand, tapping the filter plate with appropriate force, and continuously dropping ceramic slag indicates that it is a low-quality filter plate that can cause secondary pollution of the aluminum liquid.
Use an open flame or electric heating to heat it up and turn it red. Immediately cool it at room temperature without cracking or falling slag, indicating that it is a good filter plate.
The effective specific surface area or porosity calculation of foam body shall be carefully evaluated when purchasing filtration.
You can observe the homogeneous state of the mesh on the surface layer of the filter plate, and then cut open to observe the homogeneous state of the mesh on its cross-section. If conditions permit, the porosity can be measured and calculated using the drainage method. Three dimensional mesh homogenization with relatively high porosity is an excellent ceramic filter plate.
