According to the differences in the national standards and manufacturing processes of these indicators and materials of graphite electrodes, they are classified into three types: general power graphite electrodes (RP), high-power graphite electrodes (HP), and ultra-high power graphite electrodes (UHP). The post-graphite electrode manufacturing plant has been able to develop and add two types of high-bulk density graphite electrodes (HD) and quasi-ultra-high density graphite electrodes (SHP) according to the functional requirements of different users.
 
Based on national standards, each company has its own enterprise standards, and customers will determine the sequence in which they formulate their own quality standards. Volumetric relative density is the ratio of the mass of a graphite electrode material sample to its volume, with the unit of g/cm ³. The greater the volumetric density, the denser the working electrode is, and it is positively correlated with strength and the function of the anti-oxidation system. Generally speaking, for electrodes of the same type, the greater the influence of volumetric density, the lower the resistivity.
