Who says flat inductors can only be used for fixed purposes? Through ingenious design, the SQ2418 can also achieve the function of a variable inductor! Although not as common as the traditional adjustable magnetic core, its inductance can be fine-tuned through an external auxiliary magnetic core or a special winding structure. This is very useful in situations where precise optimization of the switching power supply loop is required or there are subtle adjustment requirements for EMI filter frequency points. As a flat wire inductor, it still retains the advantages of low DC resistance (DCR) and high current capacity. This design, which combines the inherent advantages of the SQ flat Inductor (SQ Flattened Inductor) with a certain degree of adjustability, provides engineers with a more flexible tuning method in high-performance power supplies with limited space.
