Currently, AZ91D, AM60B and AM50 are the most commonly used in automotive magnesium alloys. Therefore, this article reviews and summarizes the applications of magnesium alloys in the vehicle body system (door, front frame, front upper components, roof, engine hood, trunk lid), chassis system (wheels, steering wheel, subframe), powertrain system (engine and transmission housing, oil pan), and interior and exterior decoration system (seat frame, dashboard frame, center console bracket, LCD display backplate and other application fields).

Hot-rolled magnesium alloy plate, magnesium alloy rod and magnesium alloy part are widely used in the automotive industry. Magnesium alloys are widely used in the manufacturing of automotive components, such as engine housings, steering wheel frames, and seat frames. By reducing the weight of the vehicle body, they enhance fuel efficiency and lower carbon emissions.

Lightweighting is a core requirement in the aerospace industry. Magnesium alloys have demonstrated outstanding performance in aircraft seat frames, helicopter components, and satellite structures, significantly reducing the weight of the structures.
