The deformable magnesium alloy AZ31B possesses high vibration resistance and heat absorption properties, making it an ideal material for manufacturing aircraft hubs. Magnesium alloy AZ31B is stable in gasoline, kerosene, and lubricating oils, suitable for the production of engine gear casings, oil pumps, and oil pipes. Additionally, due to its low inertia forces generated during rotational and reciprocating motion, it is used to manufacture moving parts such as rocker arms, cabin doors, and control surfaces. Magnesium alloy products are widely used in both civilian and military aircraft, especially bombers. The fuselage section of the famous American B-52 bomber uses 635 kilograms of magnesium alloy sheet, 90 kilograms of extrusions, and over 200 kilograms of castings. For example, it is used in clutch housings, valve covers, cylinder heads of gearboxes, air conditioning unit casings, steering wheels, steering brackets, brake brackets, etc. To improve impact absorption and weight reduction after a car collision, magnesium alloy is used in steering wheels and seats. According to relevant research, 60% of the fuel consumed by a car is used to overcome its own weight. For every 10% reduction in vehicle weight, fuel efficiency can be increased by more than 5%; for every 100 kg reduction in vehicle weight, fuel consumption per hundred kilometers can be reduced by about 0.7 L, and saving 1 L of fuel can reduce CO2 emissions by 2.5 g, with an annual emission reduction of more than 30%.
