Fire thread filter is a key component in fire pipeline systems, mainly used to intercept solid impurities in fluids and protect downstream equipment from particle wear or blockage.
Its core functions are reflected in three aspects: firstly, physical filtration is achieved through a filter structure (usually made of stainless steel material), and the mesh diameter is designed according to system requirements, such as the requirement for the suction pipe of a fire pump to have a pore size of not less than 3mm; secondly, maintaining stable system flow, the flow area needs to reach more than 4 times the cross-sectional area of the pipeline to avoid excessive pressure loss caused by filtration; The third is to extend the service life of equipment and prevent impurities from entering precision components such as pressure reducing valves and solenoid valves, causing jamming or failure. These types of filters usually use threaded connections for easy installation and disassembly, especially suitable for space limited pipeline renovation scenarios.
The core structure of a fire thread filter consists of a filter screen, a cylinder, and a threaded interface. The filter screen is woven with stainless steel wire, and the mesh size is designed according to different application scenarios. For example, the suction pipe of a fire pump requires a pore size of ≥ 3mm, while the filter in front of the rain alarm valve requires a precision filtration of 0.6-0.71mm. The cylinder body is usually made of carbon steel or cast iron material, and the internal filter screen is cylindrical in shape. The flow area needs to meet the standard of more than 4 times the cross-sectional area of the pipeline.
The threaded interface adopts standard pipe threads (such as G1/2, G3/4, etc.) to ensure quick sealing connection with the pipeline. Some models are also equipped with flange covers for easy removal and cleaning of the filter screen. This structural design ensures both filtration efficiency and maintenance convenience, making it particularly suitable for the dual requirements of reliability and rapid response in fire protection systems.
Guangdong Port Xingyuan Fire Protection Group was founded in 1994. After 30 years of pioneering and enterprising, it has now developed into a sales group company that integrates the manufacturing and sales of fire galvanized steel pipes, seamless steel pipes, valves, pipe fittings, and equipment series.
Gangxingyuan has 11 subsidiaries with over 10000 tons of galvanized steel pipes and over 40 million in stock of fire protection accessories, ensuring the construction progress of end customers and helping them save logistics and warehousing costs, responding quickly to customer procurement needs.
