Melittin, cas:20449-79-0 is white or off white powder, and its purity is ≥ 95%；Melittin, cas:20449-79-0 is the main component and bioactive substance of bee venom, accounting for about 40%~50% of the dry weight of bee venom. It is a polypeptide composed of 26 amino acid residues, with a molecular formula of C131H229N39O31 and a relative molecular weight of 2846.46. Melittin, cas:20449-79-0 is highly alkaline (pH=10) and easily soluble in water. It plays a major pharmacological role in bee venom and is currently one of the strongest anti-inflammatory substances known to humans. It has a hormone like effect but does not have any adverse reactions to hormones. In addition, it also has antibacterial, anti radiation, antiviral and other effects. Melittin can also pierce the protective outer layer of HIV and destroy HIV without damaging the surrounding normal cells. In recent years, there have been reports of research on its anti-cancer effects. However, its clinical application has many limitations, mainly because existing technology is difficult to completely remove phospholipase A2, which has sensitization reactions in bee venom and has a molecular weight similar to bee venom peptides.
