Colorful DX54D PPGI/PPGL Steel Products
Double-sided pre-painted steel coils (PPGI/PPGL) are manufactured using DX54D grade low-carbon steel substrate, characterized by its high formability (r-value ≥1.9, n-value ≥0.22) and yield strength of 140–220 MPa. The substrate is coated with a zinc layer (minimum Z100 per EN 10346) via continuous hot-dip galvanizing, followed by a chemical pretreatment (typically chromate-free), an epoxy primer (5–10 μm), and a finish coat applied via reverse roll coating. Finish coat options include polyester (PE), siliconized polyester (SMP), polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), or specialty coatings such as wrinkle finish, grain print, or laminated PVC film (VCM/PCM). Total dry film thickness ranges from 20–45 μm. The double-sided coating ensures uniform protection on both surfaces. Key performance parameters include adhesion (cross-cut ≥Gt1 per ISO 2409), impact resistance (≥9 J), and formability (T-bend ≤2T). The product is suitable for deep drawing applications such as downpipe fabrication, appliance housings, and architectural components requiring complex shapes. For exterior applications, coating selection should consider environmental corrosivity (C1–C5 per ISO 12944) and desired service life. Installation guidelines recommend avoiding direct contact with dissimilar metals to prevent galvanic corrosion; cut edges should be sealed with touch-up paint. All technical data are based on standardized testing; actual performance depends on fabrication techniques, environmental exposure, and maintenance.
