Core Working Principle

When the door opens, a piston or spring inside the door closer is compressed to store energy. When closing, this stored energy is released through the hydraulic fluid or spring, pushing the door closed. As the door nears full closure, a cushioning mechanism slows down the movement, reducing noise and wear.

A door closer is a spring-like hydraulic element attached to the door head. When the door opens, it compresses and then releases, automatically closing the door. Like a spring-loaded door, it ensures that the door closes accurately and promptly to its initial position after opening.

The modern hydraulic door closer (or door closer for short) originated from an American patent registered in the early 20th century.
