Slitting Metallic White Color Steel for Home Appliance

Embossed pre-painted steel sheets for refrigeration and appliance applications are produced by passing the coated coil through engraved rolls under pressure (50–150 tons) or via chemical etching processes. This creates three-dimensional patterns (e.g., linen, leather, geometric designs) with embossment depths typically ranging from 30 to 100 μm. The embossing process occurs either before (pre-embossed substrate) or after (post-embossed) the coating application. For refrigeration panels (PIR/PUR sandwich panels), the steel facings are embossed to increase panel rigidity (section modulus improved by 15–30%) and enhance paint adhesion through mechanical anchoring. The surface profile reduces oil-canning effects in large flat areas. Coating systems for these applications typically consist of a chromate-free pretreatment, an epoxy primer (5–10 μm), and a polyester (PE) or polyurethane (PU) topcoat (15–25 μm) with specific flexibility (T-bend ≤2T) to withstand the embossing deformation without cracking. For appliance applications (refrigerator doors, interior liners), the embossed texture serves both aesthetic and functional purposes: it hides minor scratches and reduces visible fingerprints. The pattern also improves heat dissipation in condenser sections. Material specifications include substrate thicknesses of 0.4–0.8 mm for appliances and 0.5–1.0 mm for refrigeration panels, with yield strengths of 280–350 MPa. The embossed surface must maintain coating integrity after forming operations such as bending and roll-forming used in panel production.
