The Antenk 2.54mm Box Header, also known as Shrouded Header or Ejector Header compatible with Molex type designs, features a 180° vertical orientation with a mating height of 8.89mm. This component provides reliable board-to-wire interconnection in electronic assemblies, primarily used with IDC (Insulation Displacement Connector) sockets and ribbon cables. Its key function is to create a secure, polarized connection that prevents reverse insertion while offering mechanical protection to the pin contacts through its boxed shroud. Typical applications include computer motherboards, industrial control systems, communication equipment, medical devices, automotive electronics, and consumer appliances such as printers and gaming machines. To use, simply solder the through-hole pins onto a PCB, then mate with a corresponding IDC socket or female header (2.54mm pitch) to complete the cable assembly. Antenk, a Guangdong Famous Trademark holder certified to ISO9001, ISO14001 and IATF16949:2016, ensures each connector meets strict industry standards. All products are RoHS, REACH compliant and UL recognized under E472792, guaranteeing global market acceptance.
Manufactured in our 10,000m² facility equipped with 11 high-speed precision stamping presses from Japan and Taiwan, 8 injection molding machines, and 180 automatic assembly units, the production process follows six critical stages: precision stamping of phosphor bronze or brass pins, selective gold or tin plating for optimal conductivity, high-temperature plastic injection molding of the UL 94V-0 rated box housing (PBT or PA6T), pin insertion into the housing via automated assembly, coplanarity inspection using laser sensors, and final electrical testing with our 20+ laboratory instruments including contact resistance and insulation meters. Compared to generic box headers, Antenk offers superior advantages: tighter coplanarity control (≤0.1mm) ensuring reliable soldering without tombstoning, consistent pin retention force (3-9N per pin), and higher heat resistance (up to 260°C for lead-free soldering). Our in-house mold workshop (250+ plastic molds, 180+ metal dies) allows rapid customization of plating thickness, pin length, or even adding additional locating posts. Unlike many competitors who outsource key processes, Antenk controls everything from stamping to assembly, ensuring full traceability and shorter lead times.
When using the Antenk 2.54mm Box Header, note the polarity marking (usually a chamfered corner) to avoid misalignment during mating. The operating temperature ranges from -40°C to +105°C, suitable for demanding environments. Do not exceed 1.5A current per contact (typical rating) and avoid applying lateral force during disconnection to prevent pin damage. These headers are widely used in DIY electronics, prototyping, automotive ECUs, PLC controllers, HVAC systems, and battery management systems. For volume assembly, Antenk supports both wave soldering and reflow soldering processes. We provide free engineering samples, full 2D/3D drawings, and competitive MOQs. With over 70% of our products exported to North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia, Antenk is your trusted partner for precision interconnect components.
