This precision-engineered female connector is designed for on-board diagnostic (OBD-II) interfaces, complying with SAE J1962 specifications. The receptacle features a 16-pin inset (recessed) terminal arrangement, with a robust high-temperature UL94 V-0 rated PBT/PA66 housing, providing excellent mechanical strength and thermal stability up to 125°C. Key characteristics: current rating 5A per pin, contact resistance <20mΩ, insulation resistance >1000MΩ, dielectric strength 500V AC, operating temperature -40°C to +125°C. The receptacle includes a polarized trapezoidal shape and integrated latch locking mechanism for secure mating with the OBD male connector. Terminals are stamped from phosphor bronze with selective gold or tin plating. RoHS, REACH compliant, UL recognized (E472792).

Applications include vehicle diagnostic ports (OBD-II), onboard data loggers, fleet management systems, automotive testing equipment, and aftermarket scan tools. Usage: solder the receptacle’s through-hole pins directly to the PCB using wave or hand soldering (peak 260°C). The inset design protects terminals during handling. After soldering, mate with the OBD male connector shell; the latch engages audibly. Precautions: avoid reverse polarity, do not exceed 5A per pin, ensure proper PCB hole alignment.
