Huizhou Antenk Electronics Co., Ltd. (IATF16949, ISO9001, ISO14001 certified) presents the DIN41612 Vertical Plug Type R Compliant Press-Fit Connector with 96 positions. This high density male connector follows IEC 60603-2 standards, featuring Type R configuration with 3 rows of 32 contacts each on a 2.54mm grid. The press-fit termination uses compliant pin technology (also known as “eye of the needle”), enabling gas tight connections to plated through holes without soldering. This eliminates thermal stress on the PCB and allows for easy field replacement. The insulator is molded from high temperature UL94 V-0 PBT or glass filled polyester, providing excellent dimensional stability and mechanical strength. Male contacts are stamped from phosphor bronze with selective gold plating of 0.8 microns on the mating area, and the compliant press-fit tails are tin plated. Key specifications include current rating 2A per contact, contact resistance below 20 milliohms, insulation resistance above 1000 megohms, dielectric strength 1000V AC, and operating temperature from -55 to +125 degrees Celsius. The vertical orientation allows direct backplane insertion. RoHS and REACH compliant, UL recognized under E472792.

Applications include high reliability backplane systems in telecommunications, industrial computers, medical imaging, test equipment, and aerospace electronics where solderless terminations are preferred. Usage method: press the connector into the PCB using an arbor press or automated insertion tool with controlled force (typically 250N total). Ensure PCB holes are plated and sized according to DIN41612 specifications (1.0mm ±0.05mm). No soldering is required. Precautions: do not exceed rated insertion force, avoid removing and reinserting the connector (press-fit is one-time), ensure proper alignment before pressing. Production process: in house mold design, injection molding on 10 Japanese and Taiwanese machines, high speed stamping of pins with compliant press-fit tails on 9 presses, selective gold and tin plating, automated pin insertion into housing, 100 percent pin coplanarity and press-fit tail geometry inspection (eye of the needle dimension), insertion force validation per contact, contact resistance and insulation tests, 48 hour salt spray test, and final QC with lot traceability.
