This high density male connector follows IEC 60603-2 standards, featuring Type R configuration with 3 rows of 32 contacts each on a 2.54mm grid. The press-fit termination uses compliant pin technology (also known as “eye of the needle”), enabling gas tight connections to plated through holes without soldering. This eliminates thermal stress on the PCB and allows for easy field replacement. The insulator is molded from high temperature UL94 V-0 PBT or glass filled polyester, providing excellent dimensional stability and mechanical strength. Male contacts are stamped from phosphor bronze with selective gold plating of 0.8 microns on the mating area, and the compliant press-fit tails are tin plated.
