Installation rules that will save you thousands
Always scrape off the old rubber gasket completely from the filter housing. A double gasket is the #1 cause of catastrophic oil leaks and filter failure
Apply a thin, even coat of clean compressor oil to the new gasket before installation. This ensures a tight, leak-free seal without over-tightening
Tighten by hand only until the gasket seats firmly, then turn an additional 1/2 turn. Over-tightening will crack the plastic end cap or strip the threads on your compressor
Always change your compressor oil at the same time you change the oil filter. Old, contaminated oil will clog a new filter in just a few days
Replace every 2000 operating hours. In dusty or high-temperature environments, cut that interval in half to 1000 hours
