Blue color-coated coils feature a dual-layer coating structure consisting of a primer and a topcoat. Primer: Typically 5–7 μm thick, used to enhance adhesion and corrosion resistance. The two main types are epoxy primers (offering good adhesion and chemical resistance) and polyester primers (featuring excellent adhesion and flexibility); the choice depends on the topcoat and the intended application. Topcoat: Provides a blue decorative finish and weather-resistant protection. Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF, fluorocarbon): Currently the top-performing topcoat, offering exceptional weather and corrosion resistance. It does not fade during long-term outdoor use and has a service life of over 20 years; due to its high cost, it is primarily used in high-end outdoor projects.
