Medical-grade PLGA (poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)) is a well-established biodegradable polymer widely used in pharmaceutical and biomedical applications. After administration, it gradually breaks down into lactic acid and glycolic acid, which are naturally metabolized by the body. Because of its proven safety and adjustable degradation properties, PLGA is commonly used in controlled-release drug delivery systems, absorbable medical materials, and long-acting injectable formulations.

We offer medical-grade PLGA in several lactide/glycolide ratios to support different formulation needs and release profiles, including:

• PLGA 50:50: Relatively faster degradation, suitable for short- to mid-term release systems where earlier drug release is required

• PLGA 75:25: Intermediate degradation rate, providing a balanced release duration and stability, widely used in sustained-release formulations

• PLGA 85:15: Slower degradation, designed for long-acting delivery systems that require extended release and fewer administrations

By adjusting the lactide-to-glycolide ratio, PLGA allows flexible control over degradation behavior and drug release kinetics. It can be used with a variety of active ingredients, including small molecules, peptides, and larger biomacromolecules, while helping maintain their stability during release.
