Due to Ertalyte™ TX PET-P's low moisture absorption rate, this grade’s mechanical and electrical properties are unaffected by moisture, which gives this grade better wear and inertness over nylon and acetal products and also a lower wear rate than unmodified polyesters. These characteristics make Ertalyte™ TX PET-P ideal for use in applications that involve high pressure and velocity conditions and environments with soft metal and plastic mating surfaces where noise abatement is critical.
Ertalyte@ TX is an unreinforced semi-crystalline thermoplastic polyester (PET-P) that has a solid lubricant filer.Designed for machining highly wear resistant parts where excellent performance in both high pressure and moderatevelocity conditions exist. It is ideally suited for applications invoving soft metal and plastic mating surfaces where rotary or sliding contact exist.
Key properties of Ertalyte@ TX, are its high strength and stifness, high wear-resistance, very good dimensionalstability, high creep resistance and very good chemical resistance. This combination of properties make it an idealmaterial for machining bushings and bearings that require no start-up or running lubrication. Ertalyte TX is an internally lubricated version of standard Ertalyte PET-P, designed specifically to reduce friction and wear. Standard Ertalyte PET-P (usually natural or black) offers high mechanical strength, excellent dimensional stability, and low moisture absorption. It is generally preferred for high-load, precision mechanical parts where physical strength and chemical resistance are the primary requirements.
Ertalyte TX (light gray in color) is engineered for sliding and bearing applications. Because of its built-in lubricant, it excels under high-speed and high-pressure conditions while reducing friction.
