A Compact Three-Stone SKU Needs Its Own Proportions

FLYR-03 combines a 0.71 carat oval yellow lab-grown diamond with two pear-shaped lab diamond side stones totaling approximately 0.19 carat. The sample is built in 18K white gold and weighs approximately 2.36 grams.

These specifications place the ring in a different commercial position from a larger certificate-led yellow diamond centerpiece. It can serve as a compact private-label SKU, a lower-carat extension within a colored-diamond collection or a sample for buyers testing a three-stone category before expanding the assortment.

The design should not be treated as a reduced copy of a larger ring. When the center becomes smaller, the pear side stones, gaps, prong positions, shoulder transition and shank width must be reconsidered together. Percentage scaling alone does not preserve the same face-up balance.

Buyers planning more than one yellow-diamond price tier can compare this compact sample with the 1.50ct certificate-led yellow diamond ring. The two versions should use different stone-sourcing and CAD references rather than share one scaled mounting.

Do Not Scale the Larger CAD by Percentage

The combined side-stone weight is approximately 27 percent of the center-stone carat weight. This figure is useful as a sample reference, but it is not a visual-size formula. Carat measures weight, while face-up appearance also depends on length, width, depth and outline.

Two pear diamonds with the same combined weight may have different shoulder fullness, tip length or visible spread. Beside a 0.71 carat center, those differences become more noticeable because each side stone occupies a larger share of the total three-stone width.

The pear pair should therefore be reviewed individually. Their inner curves should meet the oval center at comparable distances, their tips should point toward the shoulders at matching angles, and both stones should transition into the shank without making one side appear heavier.

A new center with a different oval ratio may also require a different pair. Reusing the same 0.19 carat total without checking the individual measurements can create crowded prongs, excessive gaps or an uneven top view.

Build the Quotation Around Three Cost Drivers

For a private-label order, the quotation should be prepared against the intended ring-size range and quantity rather than one sample size. A larger size may require additional circumference or a revised lower shank, while a smaller size may need a narrower setting transition to avoid a top-heavy appearance.

Can this ring use the same CAD as the 1.50 ct version?

No direct percentage scaling is recommended. The center dimensions, pear-pair size, stone gaps, prong positions and shoulder transition should be rebuilt for the selected 0.71 ct center.

Does the photographed center stone include an IGI report?

No. A report can be requested when an eligible documented center stone is selected before production.

Will every ring size weigh 2.36 grams?

No. The 2.36 g figure is a sample reference. Final weight changes with ring size, shank thickness, stone measurements and any structural revisions approved in CAD.

How should the 0.19 ct pear-side specification be recorded?

The order should include the individual dimensions, acceptable color and clarity, face-up outline and matched-pair standard. Total side-stone weight alone is not sufficient for repeat production.

What information is needed for a private-label quotation?
