A 0.50ct Center with 0.41ct of Shoulder Diamonds

This 18K white gold ring uses a 0.50 carat yellow oval lab-grown diamond as the center and two tapered baguette lab diamonds totaling approximately 0.41 carat at the shoulders. The sample weighs approximately 2.32 grams and was recorded at workshop size 12.

The unusual point is the diamond-weight distribution. Nearly half of the total diamond weight sits outside the center. The baguettes are therefore not minor accents: they create much of the ring's face-up width, connect the oval to the slim shank, and materially affect the quotation.

For a buyer developing a private-label range, this setting offers a way to build visible finger coverage without relying on a larger center alone. The commercial decision is how much of the stone budget should remain in the yellow oval and how much should be assigned to the matched shoulder pair.

The broad baguette pair expands the top width before narrowing into the polished band.

Use Millimeter Spread to Set the Collection Tier

The sample totals approximately 0.91 carat, but total carat weight does not explain how wide the ring appears. The oval's face-up width, each baguette's inner and outer width, and the angle at which the side stones leave the center determine the visible span across the finger.

A shorter, wider baguette pair can create more shoulder coverage than a longer, narrower pair of similar weight. For repeat production, the approved file should record the individual length, inner width, outer width and depth of both side stones rather than only the combined 0.41 carat figure.

This is also why the mounting should not be scaled from the 1.50ct center-led yellow oval ring. The larger model is organized around the center stone; this version uses the baguette shoulders to produce a wider top from a smaller oval.

Three Ways to Reprice This Design Without Losing Its Identity

  1. Preserve the spread. Keep the approved baguette dimensions and source the yellow oval within an agreed color, clarity and measurement range. This protects the wide face-up profile.
  2. Reduce shoulder cost. Use smaller tapered baguettes, then redraw the outer seats and shank connection. Leaving the original metal gaps around reduced stones will make the shoulders look unfinished.
  3. Increase the center. Select a larger oval and rebuild the baguette angle, center basket and total top width around the new measurements. A larger center is not a drop-in substitution.

These directions can be compared during three-stone CAD development. The useful output is not one generic rendering, but two or three measured versions showing how stone allocation changes the front view and estimated cost.

Production Notes for the Approved Sample

Center reference
0.50 ct yellow oval lab-grown diamond. The exact color grade, clarity, measurements, growth method and report status must be confirmed for the selected stone.
Side-stone reference
Two tapered baguette lab-grown diamonds, approximately 0.41 ct total. Individual dimensions and matching criteria are required for repeat orders.
Metal and sample weight
18K white gold; approximate sample weight 2.32 g. Final weight changes with ring size, shank thickness, stone dimensions and structural revisions.
Sizing and development
Workshop reference size 12; other sizes are customizable. Initial CAD is normally prepared within 48 hours after the stone and size requirements are confirmed.
Order support
MOQ 1 piece. Production is normally 7-12 working days after final approval. Eligible stone reports and project packaging are available on request.

What QC Should Compare Before Shipment

The front image should confirm that the oval is centered and that both baguettes show the same visible length and taper. The angled images should confirm comparable setting height, even contact with the center assembly and a smooth transition into both sides of the shank.

Because the center is brilliant-cut and the side stones are step-cut, identical brightness is not the goal. QC should instead check that one baguette is not visibly darker because of mismatched depth, tilt or obstruction from the setting.

For repeat batches, retain the approved stone map, individual side-stone dimensions, center measurements, finished top width, ring-size standard and front/angled QC images. These references are more reliable than reordering by model name and total carat weight alone.

Buyer Questions Specific to This Layout

Can the side stones be reordered as 0.41ct total?

Not reliably. The purchase specification should include each stone's length, inner width, outer width, depth and acceptable matching standard. Equal combined weight can still produce visibly different shoulders.

Can the same top be used across a full ring-size run?

The top may remain visually consistent across a limited size range, but the lower shank and estimated gold weight must be recalculated. Very small or large sizes may also need a revised shoulder transition.

Which change has the least effect on the design?

Changing the yellow center within a controlled measurement range usually preserves the layout better than reducing the baguette width. Any stone substitution still requires a fit check before production.

For this SKU, ask the FLORAL JEWELRY team for a two-version shoulder allocation sheet. Send the target top width, center-stone range, ring sizes and side-stone budget through the baguette allocation review. The response should compare a spread-preserved version with a lower-cost shoulder version before the quotation is finalized.
