Industrial gas springs (also named gas struts, gas support rods) are self‑sealed, maintenance‑free hydropneumatic components filled with high‑pressure nitrogen and a small amount of hydraulic oil inside an air‑tight steel cylinder. By leveraging compressed‑gas pressure difference on the piston assembly, the product delivers stable thrust, counter‑balance, motion buffering and angle‑positioning functions. It assists in lifting, opening, closing and holding machine lids, access panels, hatches, protective covers and equipment frames without extra power sources, widely adopted across all industrial‑manufacturing sectors.

Working Principle

The whole gas‑spring system is fully enclosed. Compressed nitrogen applies pressure on the piston. When compressed by external load, the piston rod pushes inward; once the external force is released, nitrogen pressure pushes the piston rod back to extend and provide supporting force. Internal hydraulic oil offers end‑stroke damping to slow down moving speed, eliminate sharp impact, lower noise and prevent abrupt snapping open or slamming shut. The force‑output ratio (F2/F1) is normally controlled between 1.2‑1.4 for nearly linear force output, far steadier than traditional mechanical coil springs. Custom force curves are available on request.
