Dark Grey PVDF Fluorocarbon Color-Coated Steel Coil~1

PVDF-coated steel coils, available as PPGI (pre-painted galvanized) or PPGL (pre-painted galvalume), consist of a steel substrate treated with a multi-layer coating system. The system typically includes chemical pretreatment, a primer, a polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) topcoat with at least 70% PVDF resin, and a backer coat. The PVDF topcoat provides strong resistance to ultraviolet radiation, chemicals, and weathering, contributing to long-term color retention and gloss stability. Coating thickness for the topcoat generally ranges from 15 to 25 microns. The substrate’s zinc or aluminum-zinc layer offers sacrificial corrosion protection, making the material suitable for roofing, cladding, and architectural applications.

These coils can be roll-formed, bent, or stamped without cracking of the coating, allowing use in facades, doors, windows, and interior partitions. Both galvanized and galvalume substrates are recyclable, and the extended service life of PVDF coatings reduces replacement frequency and maintenance demand. Color options include standard RAL or NCS shades as well as custom matches, with smooth, embossed, or textured finishes available. Performance values such as corrosion resistance, coating adhesion, and fire behavior should be confirmed by project-specific test reports. The material is supplied in coil form with protective packaging suitable for transport and storage.
