Product details

Yellow Alstroemeria – Premium Fresh Cut Flower from Yunnan, China

Overview

Known for its vibrant golden-yellow petals with delicate speckles, Yellow Alstroemeria is one of the most popular varieties in our Yunnan-grown portfolio. Native to South America, this hardy bloom has adapted remarkably well to Kunming's plateau climate – high altitude, abundant sunlight, and cool nights create ideal conditions for long stems and intense color saturation.

◆Key Features

- Flower head: 6 petals, typically 4-6cm in diameter, with natural speckled patterns on inner petals

- Stem length: 60-90cm, straight and sturdy for easy processing

- Color range: From soft butter yellow to deep golden tones, depending on season

- Bloom count: 6-12 flowers per stem (filled arrangement), excellent for both single-variety and mixed bouquets

- Vase life: 14-21 days with proper care, among the longest-lasting cut flowers from our farm

◆Growing Conditions in Yunnan

Our Yellow Alstroemeria is cultivated in Kunming's Chenggong District, at an elevation of approximately 1,900 meters. The region's characteristics give our flowers a competitive edge:

- Natural greenhouse effect: High UV exposure produces richer colors and thicker petals

- Cool nights: Slow respiration rate means less sugar loss, extending post-harvest freshness

- Year-round production: Unlike many temperate regions, Yunnan's mild climate allows continuous planting and harvesting cycles

◆Freshness & Post-Harvest Handling

Every stem is cut early in the morning, immediately placed in hydrating solution, and moved to cold storage within 2 hours. Our standard export process:

1. Grading by stem length and flower maturity

2. Pre-cooling to 2-4°C

3. Bundling (20 stems per bunch, customizable)

4. Dry packing in waxed cartons with gel pack insulation

◆Care Instructions for Buyers

- Upon arrival: Recut stems at 45° angle, remove any foliage below water line

- Water: Use clean, lukewarm water with floral preservative. Change every 2-3 days

- Temperature: Keep at 2-8°C for storage, display at 18-22°C away from direct heat sources

- Tip: Alstroemeria petals are naturally delicate – avoid touching the inner spotted petals to prevent bruising
