GPO-3 (or GPO3) is a fiberglass-mat-reinforced thermoset polyester laminate that offers a unique balance of electrical, mechanical, and thermal properties. It is frequently referred to as Glastic®—one of the trade names used when the material was first introduced to the market.

GPO-3 is manufactured by combining fiberglass mat with polyester resin and curing the composite under high heat and pressure; the material is rated UL 94 V-0 for flame resistance and complies with NEMA GPO-3 standards.

Common forms include:

GPO-3 fiberglass sheets: Panels used for electrical insulation and structural applications

GPO-3 rods: Stock used to manufacture support posts, spacers, and turned components

GPO-3 laminates: Custom-machined panels for structural or specialized applications

GPO-3 is rigid laminated sheet consisting of polyester resin reinforced with fiberglass mat.

Applications:Widely used in low&middle voltage electrical equipment as insulating structures,automotive industry field,electrical motor,etc.

1.The features of GPO-3:

2.Characteristic:

Strong and stiff

Impact resistant

Excellent electrical properties ( under high humidity)

Good arc resistance and tracking resistance.

3.Application:

Widely used in the low voltage electrical industries such as rail transportation, power generation, wind energy, power transmission and distribution, metallurgy, mining, petrochemical, public transportation and other fields.

insulating supports,

bus bar supports,

mounting panels in switch-gear,

switch cabinet,

motor,

frame breaker,

safety plate,

arcing plate,

slot wedge,

shifting cover spacer,

gasket,

cable clamp,

other types of electrical apparatus.

4.Further processing GPO3:

It can be machined, punched, drilled, milled, sawn, sanded, sheared or routed.

Processing steps:

Firstly, use the scale milling cutter to process, according to the different precision requirements, use the processing precision to carry on the finishing.

Secondly, assembly by bonding, metal screws or rivets are also possible. Usually, the thinner thickness sheets just use the bonding tapes, big thickness one needs metal screws and rivets to holding the material steady with the CNC table.

Thirdly, processing according the drawing by CNC machine into the different products.
