STAINLESS TEE

A Stainless Steel Threaded Tee is a type of pipe fitting where three one perpendicular cylinder is connected to a pipe with threads in it. The tees are the most commonly used pipe fittings. ASME B16.11 tee dimensions will be up to the nominal bore size of 4 inches. Tee can connect same size pipes, two different sized pipes or three different types of pipes. But the same sized connection is the most common. The threaded tee fittings can connect the pipes with threads at their ends. The ASME B16.11 threaded tee fitting dimensions are for smaller size tees which are common in domestic applications. The screwed tee can be of any material.

Although stainless steel material is the most common, there are other types such as the ASME B16.11 Tee. The copper allows for very less corrosion resistance and to be used under mild acidic and basic conditions without much corrosion or oxidation to the tee. The national standards govern the npt threaded tee dimensions and specifications. The npt pipe tee complies with most other standards as well.

Forged Screwed Tee is used in applications where high strength and low corrosion is expected. The corrosion resistance is improved with the alloy and the strength is improved with the forging of the fitting at the production phase. ASME B16.11 Threaded Tee is used in domestic applications and low pressure industrial applications. Depending on the material, the strength, corrosion resistance and the weight could differ. The ASTM A182 SS Threaded Tees for example are stronger and corrosion resistant compared to ordinary stainless steel. Threaded Equal Tee means the connected pipes on all three openings of the tee are of equal nominal sizes. The ASME B16.11 Tee can be used in petroleum industrial pipelines, effluent collection systems, agricultural systems, food processing, water treatment plants and many other applications.
