PVDF has the best characteristics in fluorine plastic, which are the strongest toughness, low coefficient of friction, strong corrosion resistance, aging and weather resistance, good radiation resistance. Special properties of PVDF
1. Its Anti degeneration is also one of the optimal fluoride resins. 2. It has excellent insulation properties, dielectric constant (60~ 106Hz) reaches 6.0~8.0. 3. Its radiation-resistant properties are more prominent, radiated by 3x 108 lats r-ray irradiation. 4. It has a high tensile strength, good impact strength and toughness, high hardness and abrasion resistance. 5. Moreover, its water absorption is only 0.03% in 80C; Its chlorine penetrability is the smallest among fluorine resins. 6. The PVDF has the excellent physical properties. The relative density of polyvinylidene fluoride is 1.75~1.78. Long-term use temperature is -40~+125C. 7. The mechanical strength of PVDF is the most superior among Fluorine resin, and under certain temperature and pressure it can still maintain a good intensity. 8. PVDF has the characteristics of prominent anti-aging of UV and weather aging resistance, its products even stay outdoor 10 or 20 years, they will not be friable or split. 9. PVDF has a good chemical stability. It will not be corrupted by acid, alkali, strong oxidizing agent and halogen at room temperature; it will not be affect by ordinary organic solvents; it can only be swelling or partly dissolved by a handful of chemicals such as fuming sulfuric acid, alkali, ketones and ether; it can be dissolved into a colloidal solution by strong polar organic solvents such as dimethyI acetamide and Dimethyl Sulfoxide (DMSO).
