These calcium alginate wound dressings are made of alginate fibres. When exudate from a wound comes in contact with the dressing, the sodium alginate present in the fibres absorbs the exudative fluid to form a soft gel. The soft gel is intended to create a moist wound environment at the wound surface to promote wound healing. Instructions for use

• Carefully clean the wound and its surrounding area with sterile water or saline solution and dry the surrounding skin gently.
• Select the right size of dressing for the wound area. Carefully open the sterile pouch to remove the dressing inside.Calcium Sodium Alginate
• A secondary dressing is necessary when using calcium alginates. If needed, cut the tape and dressing using sterile scissors.
• Dampen dressing with sterile water or saline solution to avoid damaging the surrounding skin, then secure it to the wound area.
