Corrosion resistant titanium alloys refer to titanium alloys that can be applied in various corrosive media. Pure titanium has 100 times higher corrosion resistance than stainless steel. Ti-0.2Pd and Ti-0.8Ni-0.3Mo alloys have been developed to improve the crevices corrosion resistance in high chloride ion concentration media. In the concentration of 20% hydrochloric acid, the annual corrosion rate of industrial pure titanium at 60℃ is 25.6mm, while the Ti-0.2Pd alloy is only 0.255mm, a difference of about 100 times. Ti-0.8Ni-0.3Mo alloy also has better high temperature strength, suitable for use at high chloride ion concentration and high temperature, and this kind of alloy has been widely used in offshore oil fields, seawater desalination and Marine biological artificial cultivation.
