What should I do when surrounded by floods?

1. If there is enough time, follow the predetermined route and transfer to a safe location or nearby hills, highlands, etc. Before transferring, turn off the power and gas inside the house;

2. When already surrounded by floods, items such as boats, wooden rafts, door panels, wooden beds, and large basins can be used for water transfer;

3. If it's too late to transfer, you can climb onto sturdy roofs, high-rise buildings, large trees, high walls, and other places for temporary shelter;

4. When taking temporary shelter, communication tools should be used to find ways to contact the local flood control department and seek rescue. If contact cannot be made, look for conspicuous or noisy objects to signal passing rescue personnel;

5. If the temporary shelter is no longer safe, find floating materials as soon as possible, such as door panels, rough wood, large pieces of foam plastic, and tie them into a raft to escape;

6. If caught in a flood, try to grab onto something fixed or floating as much as possible;

7. Do not swim alone to escape, do not climb live power poles and towers, and stay away from shelters when high-voltage power towers are skewed, wires are lowered or broken to avoid electric shock.
