TECHTRON® HPV PPS exhibits excellent abrasion resistance, load capacity and dimensional stability when exposed to chemicals and high temperatures. This material is suitable where PA, POM, PET, PEI and PSU do not work and where PI, PEEK and PAI materials are oversized and TECHTRON® HPV PPS is a more economical solution.

PPS (polyphenylene sulfide) products have the widest chemical resistance of all advanced engineering plastics. Solvent-free and soluble at temperatures below 200°C; inert to vapors, strong bases, fuels and acids; with minimal hygroscopicity and very low linear coefficients of thermal expansion, and stress relieved by Quadrant's proprietary process, these PPS products are ideal for use in precision mechanical components. In addition, PPS products exhibit excellent electrical properties and inherent flame retardancy.

Techtron® PPS
Product Details

Unlike reinforced PPS products, Techtron PPS is easy to machine into tight-tolerance parts. It is ideally suited for machining into structural components in corrosive environments or as a replacement for PEEK at lower temperatures.Techtron PPS is available in a beige color.

Application Examples
HPLC
This part is used in high pressure liquid chromatography analysis equipment and is machined from Techtron PPS profiles because of its chemical inertness. (Previous materials: Polyetheretherketone, stainless steel, titanium)
Chip Nesting Kits (Nests)
Socket assemblies, used in high-energy/high-speed testing of semiconductor packages, are widely machined from Techtron PPS sheets. (Previous material: Vespel® PI)
Retaining Ring
Retaining ring to hold wafers in place, used in chemical-abrasive polishing equipment, processed from Techtron PPS.
 
40% Glass Fiber Reinforced Quadrant® PPS
Product Details

The most familiar PPS product. Compared to Techtron PPS, it is produced using a molding process that provides better dimensional stability and thermal properties, and maintains its strength at temperatures above 220°C.

Pump Casing
Used in chemical pump environments, this part is precision machined from 40% glass-reinforced Techtron PPS to maintain high efficiency. Previous materials: stainless steel

Bearing grade Techtron® PPS
Product Details

This grade is a self-lubricating, carbon-fiber reinforced PPS produced by a molding process that provides a low coefficient of thermal expansion and unmatched chemical resistance. It is ideal for use as a friction component or as a conductive material.

Application Examples
Liquid Seal Ring
Used in centrifugal mining pumps, this ring is machined from bearing grade Techtron PPS, which eliminates wear and corrosion problems and allows for closer running clearances - reducing recirculation and increasing efficiency. (Previous material: bronze)

Techtron® HPV PPS
Product Details

Techtron HPV PPS (color: dark blue) offers an excellent combination of properties such as abrasion resistance, load carrying capacity and dimensional stability when exposed to chemicals and high temperatures.

Techtron HPV PPS is a more economical solution for applications where PA, POM, PET and other plastics are not sufficient, or where PI, PEEK and PAI are over-engineered.

Techtron HPV PPS exhibits excellent wear resistance and a low coefficient of friction due to the uniformly dispersed internal lubricant. This product overcomes the disadvantages of the high coefficient of friction of pure PPS and the premature wear of mating end faces of glass fiber reinforced PPS moving parts.

Techtron HPV PPS can be used in various types of industrial equipment such as industrial drying and food processing ovens (bearings, rollers...) Techtron HPV PPS (rods, sheets, tubes) are "food grade" products.
