What is the difference between a travel plug converter and a voltage adapter?

Most of the time you travel abroad, you need to prepare a travel charger for your electronic devices. In some cases, you may need a voltage adapter. If you are not sure whether you need a conversion plug or a transformer, then please go ahead.

Electrical working voltage:

United States, Canada, Japan, China Taiwan: 110V/120V

Most countries in the world: 220V/240V

Voltage adapter:

It converts the voltage from one level to another.

For example, if the electrical appliances used in the United States are used in Europe, the 220V/240V voltage used in Europe needs to be converted into 110V/120V voltage for the electrical appliances in the United States; otherwise, if the electrical appliances in the United States are directly used in the European sockets, overheating, Safety hazards such as burns and even explosions.

But you also need to know that most electronics can use a wide voltage (110V-240V), such as notebook computers, cameras, mobile phone chargers and other battery charging devices most do not require transformers. It can be verified by viewing the parameters on the device:

Wide voltage equipment:

If the device is of wide voltage, it means that it can be used on either 110/120v voltage or 220/240v voltage.

Note: The portable transformer is only for changing the voltage and is not suitable for long-term use. It is recommended not to exceed 30 minutes.

Travel plug adapter:

As the connection between the plug and the socket, the shape of the plug is changed to match the socket.

Due to the historical development of the world, different countries have their own standards for wall sockets. Even if the voltages of two countries are the same, their power outlets may be different. The plug converter is to convert the plug into the plug type that can be used by the socket in the destination country, but the conversion plug does not have the function of changing the voltage.
