5. Summary
The RDSE-800 is a crane-hung glass vacuum lifter for teams who already have a crane or hoist at the work position and lift one large panel at a time. A single 500 × 1000mm long-format cup gives it an 800kg capacity on one continuous seal, the head rotates 360° endlessly and tilts 0°-90° under power, and the operator works from either a wired or a wireless remote. At 178kg with IP43 protection, in a compact 1078 × 484 × 594mm envelope, it suits cranes that carry other duties and installations with limited handling space. It requires an overhead crane or hoist above the work position — if you need a machine that reaches the height on its own, tell us the height and we will quote the self-supporting model instead.
Frequently Asked Questions
It needs something above it to hang from — an overhead crane, a jib crane or a hoist on a monorail. It has no lifting structure of its own, no wheels and no travel drive, so it cannot raise a panel from the ground. If you do not have a lifting structure at the work position, or you need the machine to reach 4m or 5m on its own, this is not the right model. Send us the working height and the plan of the position and we will tell you which of our self-supporting glass vacuum lifters fits, or whether an overhead crane is the more economical route at your volume.
The rated maximum load capacity is 800kg, carried on a single 500 × 1000mm cup. Because there is one cup and it is large, it is built around one big rectangular panel rather than a batch of small ones — if your work is several smaller panels at a time, this is the wrong machine and you should tell us before ordering. Glass weight varies with thickness and size, so an 800kg rating does not by itself tell you which panel dimensions will lift. Send us the panel thickness and the width and height of your largest unit and we will confirm from the cup size what is safe, and tell you if your panel is outside what a 500 × 1000mm cup can cover. If your panels are heavier than 800kg in total, or you handle several panels at once, the RDSE-1000 in the same range is rated 1000kg and uses six Dia.400mm round cups.
The two heads answer different jobs. Choose the RDSE-800 when you lift one large panel at a time and want the load held on a single continuous 500 × 1000mm seal; it is also 40kg lighter at 178kg against 218kg, which matters when the head has to be moved between bays. Choose the RDSE-1000 when you handle several panels or a heavier one: it is rated 1000kg and uses six Dia.400mm round cups spread across a much wider 2741mm frame, which is the better answer for a batch of smaller panels or one very heavy unit. Both share the same features — 900W, DC24V, 12V-28AH × 2 batteries, 0°-90° tilting, 360° endless rotation, IP43 and the same wired and wireless dual remote control — so the choice is cup format and capacity, not feature set.
A mechanical beam grips the panel by clamping its edges, so it needs a continuous frame edge to grip and it concentrates force on that edge. The RDSE-800 grips the flat face with suction, so it needs no frame, works on glass without a finished edge, and a loss of vacuum is visible and correctable rather than a load released. It also rotates and tilts under power, which a beam does not. The trade-off is that a vacuum head needs a smooth, clean, dry glass face and its cups wear with use, so the cups are a consumable item to plan for.
The RDSE-800 runs on two 12V-28AH batteries and the working time is not listed in our catalogue, so we will confirm the figure against your actual duty cycle rather than quote you a number we have not measured. The machine uses most common hardware parts, so parts can be bought locally from a hardware or lifting equipment supplier rather than shipped from us, and if a machine does break down we guide the repair by video and repair instruction. One year quality guarantee including the battery; if it breaks down within one year we send the parts free of charge. The battery life span is up to 2 years if maintained according to our maintenance manual.
