     A temperature switch, also known as a thermostat or thermal switch, is a device that detects and controls the temperature of a system to maintain it within a specific range. It acts as a sensor and an automatic controller, typically used in various applications such as heating, cooling, refrigeration, and industrial processes.
    The working principle of a temperature switch is simple: it contains a sensitive element (often a bimetallic strip, a thermistor, or a thermocouple) that changes its electrical resistance or physical properties based on the surrounding temperature. When the temperature reaches a pre-set point (either the activation or deactivation temperature), the switch either closes a circuit (activating a heating or cooling mechanism) or opens a circuit (disabling it), ensuring the temperature stays within the desired range.
    Temperature switches can be mechanical, electronic, or a combination of both. Mechanical switches use a mechanical movement (like a bi-metallic strip bending) to physically open or close a contact, while electronic switches change their electrical characteristics in response to temperature changes.
    They are commonly found in household appliances like air conditioners, heaters, ovens, and refrigerators. In industrial settings, they are used in manufacturing processes, laboratory equipment, and automotive systems to monitor and control temperature stability.
