Y-shaped flange filter

    Y-shaped filter valve, also known as Y-shaped filter or pipeline filter, is a commonly used fluid filtration equipment. Its design is similar to the letter 'Y', with one end used for fluid inflow and the other end used for removing impurities from the fluid. Y-shaped filters are usually installed at the inlet end of pressure reducing valve, relief valves, constant water level valves, or other equipment in pipeline systems to protect these devices from damage caused by solid particles, ensure fluid cleanliness, and ensure the normal operation of the system.

The Y-shaped filter is mainly composed of a ductile iron or stainless steel structure valve body, a filter screen (usually made in the shape of a filter basket), a flange, a flange cover, and fasteners. When the fluid enters the filter basket through the main pipe, solid impurities are intercepted by the filter screen, while clean fluid is discharged through the filter basket. This design allows for regular removal of accumulated impurities by removing the flange cover, thereby maintaining the filtration efficiency of the filter.

The Y-shaped filter has the characteristics of advanced structure, low resistance, and convenient discharge. They are suitable for various media, including water, oil, gas, etc., and can customize the accuracy of the filter screen according to different industrial application requirements. Due to its compact structure, the Y-shaped filter occupies less space and is relatively easy to maintain and replace, which helps to reduce maintenance costs

Comparison between Y-shaped filter and other valve
Compared with other valve such as gate valve, ball valve, butterfly valve, etc., Y-shaped filters have unique filtering functions. Gate valves are mainly used to cut off or connect the flow of media, without filtering function; Ball valves are not suitable for use as filters due to their fully open or fully closed function; Although butterfly valves have a certain function of regulating flow, they are not as good as Y-shaped filters in terms of filtration. The main advantage of Y-shaped filters is that they can effectively filter impurities in fluids, protect subsequent equipment, and demonstrate greater superiority especially in high-pressure, high-temperature, or corrosive media environments.
