Swing check valve is an automatic valve used to prevent medium backflow in one-way flow pipelines. Its working principle is to open or close valves by relying on the pressure of the medium flow in the pipeline. This type of valve is suitable for pipelines with relatively clean fluid media and is not suitable for working conditions with high viscosity or solid particles. Otherwise, it may cause check valves to be insensitive to opening and unable to achieve complete sealing, thereby affecting the check effect.
Used in conjunction with gate valves
Gate valves are usually used to cut off the flow of media, while swing check valves are used to prevent the backflow of media. In some systems that require prevention of medium backflow, a swing check valve can be installed behind the gate valve to ensure that the medium can only flow in one direction. For example, in some industrial processes, in order to prevent damage caused by medium backflow when the pump stops working, a swing check valve can be installed on the outlet pipeline of the pump, and a gate valve can be connected in series after it to manually cut off the medium if necessary.
Used in conjunction with ball valves
Ball valves are widely used due to their simple opening and closing and good sealing performance. On pipelines that require frequent opening and closing while preventing medium backflow, a ball valve can be installed as the main switch first, and then a swing check valve can be installed behind it. This ensures the normal flow direction of the pipeline and prevents medium backflow when the ball valve is closed.
Used in conjunction with butterfly valve
Butterfly valves are mainly used to regulate flow and cut off media, while butterfly check valves are specifically designed to prevent media backflow. On some large-diameter pipelines, butterfly valves and butterfly check valves may be used in combination. Butterfly valves are responsible for regulating flow, while butterfly check valves provide additional one-way flow protection on the basis of butterfly valves.
