Low-pressure casting is a casting method between gravity casting and pressure casting. It is to introduce dry compressed air or inert gas into a sealed crucible (or insulation furnace), so that the molten metal, under the action of gas pressure, flows smoothly into the mold cavity from bottom to top along the riser through the gate. After the molten metal fills the mold cavity, a certain pressure (or appropriate pressure increase) is maintained until the casting solidifies, and then the pressure is released to allow the unsolidified molten metal in the riser to flow back to the crucible, and finally the mold is opened to take out the casting.
