TBAOH
5 month agoTetrabutyl Ammonium Hydroxide (TBAH/TBAOH) Cas:2052-49-5, its molecular formula is (C4H9) 4OH, molecular weight: 181.28; It is a hydroxide of tetrabutylammonium and has a certain alkalinity. Tetra-n-butylammonium hydroxide (TBAH) is an organic quaternary ammonium strong base that is comparable in alkalinity to sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide. Although TBAH is a solid at room temperature, it easily absorbs moisture and CO2 from the air, so TBAH exists as a product in the form of an aqueous solution. The commonly used aqueous solutions include 10% (wt) TBAH, 40% (wt) TBAH, and 55% (wt) TBAH, and their aqueous solutions are prone to crystallization at around 20% (wt). When TBAOH reacts with water, a precipitate is generated. TBAOH cas:2052-49-5 is a colorless liquid with strong alkalinity, which is soluble in polar solvents such as water, ethanol, and ether. Under certain conditions, the amino anions in TBAOH molecules will combine with metal ions to form precipitates of metal hydroxides. This is due to the strong solubility difference of sodium oxide in tetrabutylammonium.
