Sodium Molybdate
4 month agoSodium molybdate cas:10102-40-6 is an inorganic salt ion compound with the molecular formula Na2MoO4 • 2H2O, a molecular weight of 241.95, and a white or slightly colored crystalline powder. Specific gravity 3.28, melting point 687 ℃ (anhydrous). Slightly soluble in water, insoluble in acetone. At 100 ℃, it loses its crystalline water and becomes anhydrous. Toxic. Mainly used to manufacture reagents, dyes, molybdenum red pigments, catalysts, molybdenum salts, and sun resistant color precipitants for alkaloids and other substances. It is also a raw material for manufacturing flame retardants and a metal corrosion agent for pollution-free cooling water systems.
The preparation method of Sodium molybdate CAS 10102-40-6 is as follows: the raw material is molybdenite (MoS2). Crush the ore and put it into a reverberatory furnace for roasting. The main product of roasting is molybdenum oxide. Wash the roasted material with nitric acid, remove impurities, and dissolve it in sodium hydroxide to obtain a sodium molybdate solution. Filter the solution, refine it with sodium sulfide, filter it again, then concentrate, cool, and crystallize. Dehydrate and dry this crystal to obtain the product.
