Frameless Shower Door Patch Fitting is a high-strength metal connector used to fix frameless shower room glass panels. It is usually made of stainless steel. It achieves a stable connection between the glass and glass through local anchoring while maintaining a minimalist visual effect.
Installation Procedure
Step 1: Positioning and Drilling
Use a laser level to mark the vertical reference line for the glass installation on the wall (accuracy ≤ 1mm/m).
Mark the drilling points on the wall according to the Patch Fitting hole spacing (refer to the product manual for hole spacing).
Drill at a low speed with a tile drill bit to avoid tile cracking, with a hole depth of ≥ 40mm.
Clean the hole and insert the nylon expansion tube flush with the wall.
Step 2: Secure the metal base.
Attach the Patch Align the fitting base with the expansion tube. Tighten with 304 stainless steel self-tapping screws (screw length ≥ 35mm), ensuring there is no gap between the base and the wall. Use a level to verify the flatness of all bases (height difference between adjacent bases ≤ 0.5mm).
Step 3: Glass Installation
Clean the glass opening for any remaining dust. Insert a rubber washer (1-2mm thick) over the bolt shank. Align the glass hole with the base bolt and slowly push it in until a 2-3mm gap remains between the glass and the wall. Tighten the nut with a torque wrench (strictly control the torque to 5-6 N·m).
Step 4: Silicone Sealing
Inject mildew-resistant neutral silicone into the gap between the bolt and the glass hole (use the needle to fill the gap thoroughly). Apply a continuous strip of adhesive around the perimeter of the fitting base (glue seam width ≥ 3mm).
Use your finger to smooth the glue seam, ensuring there are no gaps or bubbles.
Apply adhesive sealant where the bottom of the glass meets the floor (glue seam height ≥ 5mm).
Step 5: Curing and Acceptance.
Let it cure for ≥ 24 hours (ambient temperature > 15°C, humidity < 70%).
Strength Test: Press the edge of the glass with both hands to ensure there is no shaking or unusual noise.
Waterproof Test: After immersing in water for 10 minutes, place a paper towel against the back of the base to check for water seepage.
Dimension Verification: Glass verticality error ≤ 1.5mm/meter, gap uniformity error ≤ 0.5mm
Core Tips for Stainless Steel Maintenance
Antioxidant treatment
Apply stainless steel maintenance oil (such as WD-40 Specialist anti-rust oil) monthly to form a hydrophobic film;
Sealant maintenance
Check the silicone around the base: If it turns yellow or hard, remove it immediately and re-apply it (select anti-mold neutral glue).
Stress prevention
Avoid direct impact of hot water (above 50℃) on the bolt area. The temperature difference between hot and cold should be less than 30℃.
