Dual curing/adhesion promoter: Plays an irreplaceable role in electronic potting resins, LED encapsulation silicone, and room-temperature vulcanizing (RTV) silicone rubber.
It is extremely sensitive to moisture. When trimethoxy reacts with water in the air, it will rapidly undergo hydrolysis and self-crosslinking (becoming cloudy or forming lumps). It must be stored under extremely dry conditions in a nitrogen-protected sealed container. After opening the barrel, it is recommended to use it up as soon as possible.
Core application fields
Thermosetting liquid silicone rubber base gel/crosslinking components: As the end groups, they provide vinyl groups to participate in the platinum-catalyzed silane hydrogen addition reaction, constructing an elastomer network; meanwhile, the methoxy groups can assist in crosslinking under humid or acidic conditions, regulating the curing speed and final mechanical properties.
Humid curing sealants and adhesives: Utilizing the hydrolysis of methoxy groups to generate silanol and forming a Si-O-Si network, achieving single-component room-temperature curing, widely used in building sealants, electronic potting materials and structural bonding.
Composite material interface coupling and reinforcement: After methoxy hydrolysis, they combine with inorganic surfaces' hydroxyl groups such as glass fibers and mineral fillers, and the vinyl groups react with the resin matrix (such as unsaturated polyester, acrylic resin) to co-polymerize, significantly enhancing interlayer bonding strength, water resistance and mechanical properties.
Textiles and leather finishing agents: Giving textiles excellent softness, water repellency and heat resistance, often used in the post-treatment of high-end textiles, improving rebound and anti-wrinkle performance.
Polymer modification additives: Mixed into polyethylene, epoxy resin and other systems, improving the dispersion of fillers, enhancing heat resistance aging performance and surface water repellency.
