Undecarbonyl phenylalanine, Cas 175357-18-3, is a white powder. By competitive binding to the melanin stimulating hormone receptor MC1-R on melanocytes, the melanocytes cannot produce tyrosinase, thus inhibiting the activity of melanocytes and reducing the production of melanin. According to some clinical trials, undecapenylphenylalanine does reduce pigmentation and the formation of spots. Undecasenoyl-phenylalanine has good skin affinity and can control the binding of α-MSH(melanin cell stimulating hormone) to melanin production factors, thereby blocking the process of melanin formation.
