The 10th China Flower Expo will be held in Chongming District, Shanghai from May 21 to July 2 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China in 2021, with the theme of "Flowering the Chinese Dream". This year's Flower Expo is sponsored by the State Forestry and Grassland Administration, China Flower Association, and Shanghai Municipal People's Government, and organized by Shanghai Greening and City Appearance Administration, Shanghai Flower Association, and Shanghai Chongming District People's Government.
“Fuxing Pavilion” is the main venue designed by Huajian Group Shanghai Architectural Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. The design borrows Chinese paper-cut and origami concepts, and integrates the colonnade, eaves corridor, materials, colors and other elements of traditional buildings, and displays it in the Fuxing Pavilion. In the modeling design, the cascading and turbulent sloping roofs symbolize the magnificent and magnificent journey of the road to revival.

The building's continuous folded sloping roof, rich-colored eaves corridor space and red slender columns are integrated into the design of traditional Chinese cultural elements in the new era:

The design incorporates traditional Chinese cultural elements in the new era to demonstrate the spirit of the Chinese nation. The building's continuous folded sloping roof, rich-colored eaves corridor space and red slender columns, the entire building does not use classical symbols at all, but expresses the spirit of the Chinese nation through the use of color and space creation. Following the "freehand brushwork" of the essence of Chinese art, it creates a new Chinese charm and brings the national cultural identity to the new era.

Ups and downs, patchwork, more interesting is that the designers used the method of composition to copy the concept of traditional Chinese origami to the roof of the "Fuxing Pavilion". Take a piece of rectangular soft cardboard and fold the roof of the Fuxing Pavilion through the virtual and solid folding lines. The roof is light and stretched, and the metal material on the surface can reflect the sunlight and the surrounding environment, which adds to the lightness of the building, as if a piece of paper is floating on the sea of flowers. The suspended ceiling under the eaves gallery imitates the effect of traditional Chinese paper-cutting art, and the top changes of turning and rhythm are formed by ingenious splicing of multiple triangles, creating a wonderful eaves gallery space. The ingenious connection between the ultra-thin diameter red pillars under the ceiling and the roof makes the roof feel more like being pulled rather than supported, and the overall intention is lighter and upward.The ceiling materials under the eaves corridor are made of light-colored outdoor strand woven bamboo board produced by Zhuanghe. The fresh and natural building materials of bamboo better reflect the agility and lines of the ceiling, highlighting the effect of paper-cutting art.

The Fuxing Pavilion fully considers the ecological and comfort of the building. The weather-resistant large eaves corridor and the north-south passage between the three exhibition halls become part of the public service of the exhibition. The open transition space improves the wind environment of the building, and the skylight in the middle of the exhibition hall supplements the natural light for the large and deep indoor exhibition hall, all of which are in line with the design concept of green building.
In particular, the skylight of the north-south passageway reaches the ground evenly through the bamboo and wood grilles, creating a soft, space-like space like walking in the forest. Fuxing Pavilion uses modern interpretation of traditional Chinese elements, adopts Chinese cultural freehand design techniques, strives for the harmonious coexistence of architecture and environment, and creates a venue building for the 10th China Flower Expo with the characteristics of "New Chinese Style".

This year's Flower Expo attaches great importance to the planning principles of ecological, innovative, and diligent and thrifty, and strongly supports the introduction of leading green ecological standards at home and abroad, interprets ecological concepts with engineering practice, and helps world-class ecological islands benchmark against international advanced construction and operation. Standards, to achieve the goal of creating a green, healthy, low-carbon and energy-saving flower expo.
As the permanent main venue of the Flower Expo, the Fuxing Pavilion is the core of the entire Flower Expo area. The total construction area of the Fuxing Pavilion is about 37,240 square meters. Its roof and eaves are decorated with light colors produced by ZHUART Outdoor strand woven bamboo board.
