Split type electromagnetic flowmeter is an instrument used to measure the volumetric flow rate of conductive liquids and slurries in closed pipelines.
Main components
Measurement tube: a pipeline through which fluid flows, the material and size of which depend on the specific application and the properties of the measured medium.
Electrode: Installed inside the measuring tube, in contact with the measured fluid, used to detect induced electromotive force.
Excitation coil: generates a magnetic field that induces an electromotive force when the fluid moves within it.
Core and yoke shell: used to concentrate and guide magnetic fields, improve magnetic field strength and uniformity.
Installation precautions
Installation location selection: Avoid installing in places with large temperature changes and areas exposed to thermal radiation from equipment; Avoid installation in environments containing corrosive gases. If installation is necessary, ventilation measures must be taken; The installation point should avoid mechanical vibration and spray impact; Flow meters can be installed in both horizontal and vertical pipelines. If installed in a vertical pipeline, the fluid must flow from bottom to top.
Pipeline requirements: The pipeline for installing the flowmeter must meet the requirements of the manual for the front and rear straight pipe sections, otherwise it will affect the measurement accuracy of the flowmeter. The fluid flow direction should be consistent with the arrow direction on the flowmeter body.
Electrical connection: The connection of the split flowmeter must be made with a dedicated shielded wire, which should be firmly connected. The connection cannot be parallel to the power line and should be spaced at least 15cm apart. It is best to pass it separately in a metal tube. The connection should be securely fastened and not shaken.
Distance between sensors and converters: When using specialized shielded cables, the distance between sensors and converters should not exceed the specified value (generally not exceeding 100m), otherwise it may cause interference.
