- Physical and mechanical properties
- Transparency: The transmittance is ≥ 92% (when the thickness is 3mm), which is better than polycarbonate (PC) and close to optical glass.
- Density: 1.18-1.20 g/cm ³, only half of glass.
- Strength: The tensile strength is 50-80 MPa(the difference between casting and extrusion processes needs to be distinguished).
- Hardness: Rockwell hardness M80-100, surface scratch resistance better than most plastics.
- Chemical and Environmental Stability
- Chemical resistance: Resistant to dilute acids, alkalis, and oils, but not to strong acids (such as concentrated sulfuric acid), strong alkalis, and organic solvents (such as acetone).
- Weather resistance: UV stable models can be used outdoors for more than 10 years without yellowing (with added UV absorbers).
- Working temperature: -40 ℃ to+80 ℃ (can withstand 100 ℃ in the short term, but will soften and deform).
- Processing characteristics
- Plasticity: It can be formed through CNC machining, laser cutting, hot bending (softening point of about 160 ℃), and bonding (requiring special acrylic adhesive).
- Surface treatment: Easy to polish to mirror effect, or perform secondary processing such as sandblasting and coating.

- Process differences: Casting rods have better crack resistance and are suitable for precision machining; The extrusion rod has low cost and is suitable for large quantities.
- Specifications: Available in diameters ranging from 6mm to 200mm.
- Certification requirements: Medical or food contact must comply with FDA or ISO 10993 standards.
