PEEK CA (carbon fiber reinforced polyetheretherketone) is a high-performance modified composite material, composed of PEEK resin and short-cut or continuous carbon fiber (usually 30%). Its core performance is high strength, high rigidity, excellent high temperature resistance, and conductivity while retaining the gravity resistance and lightweight advantages of PEEK. It is widely used in high-end fields such as aerospace, automobile, and electronics.​

Product Advantages

 

High Strength: Tensile Strength 200-250 MPa (90-120 MPa for pure PEEK), Flexural Modulus 8-10 GPa (3-4 GPa for pure PEEK).

 

High Heat Resistance: Heat Deformation Temperature (HDT) reaches 240°C (1.82MPa load), short-term resistance 260°C.

 

Conductivity: Carbon fiber gives the material conductivity (surface resistivity 10³-10⁵Ω/sq), avoiding static electricity accumulation.

 

Lightweight: Density 1.4-1.6 g/cm³, more than 50% lighter than aluminum.

 

Corrosion Resistance: Resistant to strong acids, strong alkalis, organic solvents and high-temperature steam.

 

Environmental Compliance: Halogen-free, UL94 V-0 flame retardant, ISO 10993 medical certification.

Precautions

 

Processing temperature: Avoid exceeding 380°C to prevent PEEK degradation or carbon fiber breakage.

 

Mold design: It is necessary to add exhaust grooves (depth 0.02-0.04mm) to prevent trapped air from burning.

 

Recycling: It cannot be melted and regenerated, and can only be crushed for filler or industrial waste treatment.

 

Safety protection: Carbon fiber dust is generated during processing (long-term inhalation is harmful to the lungs), and dust masks must be worn.

OVERVIEW of PEEK - 30% Carbon-Filled

 

Peek 30% carbon-filled is 30% carbon fiber reinforced polyetheretherketone which is either extruded or compression-molded. The addition of carbon fibers enhances the compressive strength and stiffness of PEEK, and dramatically lowers its expansion rate. It offers designers optimum wear resistance and load carrying capability in a PEEK-based product. This grade provides 3-1/2 times higher thermal conductivity than unreinforced PEEK--dissipating heat from the bearing surface faster.

 

 

The addition of carbon fibers enhances the compressive strength and stiffness of PEEK, and dramatically lowers its expansion rate. It offers designers optimum wear resistance and load carrying capability in a PEEK-based product. This grade provides more thermal conductivity than unreinforced PEEK -- increasing heat dissipation from bearing surfaces improving bearing life and capability.
